This Sunday a friend of mine past away.He was only 38. No apparent cause, just went to sleep and didn't wake up.I have been thinking about George a great deal since I got the news.More, possibly, than I ever have.I came to a startling conclusion.George was responsible for the third largest life changing event in my life. The first is my marriage. The second is the births of my children. The third is the receiving of my anvil as a gift from George.Over the years I have never given this event any real consideration. But looking back now this simple gift has drastically altered not only what I do but also who I am on the deepest of levels. I hadn't asked for an anvil,George just knew of my interest in blades and things medieval. He came across an old anvil in a body shop somewhere and convinced the owner to sell it to him.George was under the impression that getting heat would be the major obstacle in becoming a blacksmith. This did not stop him from doing what he could to make my dream come true.A dream that I felt, at the time, was too out of reach even to pursue.
I regret not having this revaltion till now, when it is too late to convey the enormity of what this simple act has begun.I urge all of you to look back over your lives and find the "life changers" in your own story and tell them. Tell them how your story was altered by their actions and tell them how your story has played out since then.
