Great Mother of us all!
Driving home on 93North this evening and the rain plummeted to the earth in sheets upon sheets. Shortly after the lightning started.
OH. MY. GODS. All of them. It was like they were fighting over the clouds. We saw at least 4 lightning strikes that lasted several seconds. And it just kept going. The highway was moving very slowly and either the storm was also or it was HUUUUUUUUGGE! From route 16 all the way North to Dascomb Road in Tewksbury. It was insane.
Several times the lightning struck so close that I had to blink away spots from my eyes. I haven't been out in a storm like that in years! Driving in it was not exactly the most fun I've had for a while. But, oh man, what an experience. I think next time though, I'll ask
ariesd to take the wheel so I can look around in wonder without worrying about the brake lights in front of me.
