Last night was our first time for (finally) actually making it to a party at the Stax. It was a great evening.

Three different wedding discussions...I think that after NYE I'm really going to start serious planning on our 10 year plus 1 anniversary party. We had really wanted to renew our vows at 10 years but this past summer we were still getting back on our feet again.

Mulled cider was awesome. The Pinot Grigio in the Big Blue Bottle was awesome.

"Why do we need cloves for the oranges (clementines, whatever they were)?"

Meeting a bunch of new people and being formally introduced to a couple of people I've known of for a while. I'm never going to remember all the new names.

Very comfortably chatting with some people that though I've known for a while but have only been "getting to know" in recent months.

Our costumes got a few compliments and the fact that our street clothes matched too got a few smiles as well.

So many lovely people in exceedingly beautiful clothes...Men in suits and tuxes and women in period gowns. (what, me? drool? -- well ok, not really, but my jaw is a bit sore from hitting the floor so much ;-)

Finding out what the "cloven oranges" are for...*smile*

The only real detractor for the evening was that the arthritis kicked off pretty badly at 10:30-11pm. I'm guessing the weather change was the reason, but for those who expressed concern, thank you. I'm fine--just needed the Tylenol that I had forgotten to bring.

That and for some ungodly reason I was awake at 8:00am even though I didn't get into bed until almost 3am. Going back to sleep was apparently something my body didn't deem necessary, but not for lack of trying...
