The shortest day is almost here...

2 more days and the days start to get longer again... For this reason alone, I love Yule. Even before I was a pagan I always looked forward to the Solstice when the days started to get longer again.

The weekend would have been really awesome if not for falling on Saturday morning on the ice. I'm still very sore. On Saturday only the parts that I landed on really bothered me. But on Sunday, despite spending a very nice long soak in the hot tub Saturday night, my entire body ached and it was even worse this morning.

Couple of notable quotes from Game on Saturday:

"How long till the Maitre'd gets punched?"
"Our staff is well maintained, er, I mean trained."

Also on Saturday was hot tubbing with friends while Aries put on a nice Poi and fire breathing show. Mostly naked even. ;-)

Sunday morning kicking back, relaxing watching the fire in the woodstove was great... but the party Sunday afternoon/evening was...ok. It was great to spin fire in the snow, that was a new experience for me. But it was also rather cold and when I wasn't spinning I felt like there were too many people pressing in on me. And I was very glad to get home to my own bed. I doubt the futon helped the aches and pains from falling.

I hope you get better quickly, you were very clearly not in good shape when you got the game and I'm glad the pain level seemed to drop with time.

As for the "maintained"/"trained" bit, that was just the GM pulling the wrong word out. And not even realizing that I did at first. I need to work on being better rested before games.
