This week's trip has been a lot more fun and far less insane but I breathed an audible sigh of relief when I got on the plane this morning.

It took me a while to realize what it was about.   The Raleigh area is very friendly and welcoming but there is one aspect that has always made me a bit uncomfortable.   Christian religion is blatantly EVERYWHERE.   The fact that is is Easter Holy Week did NOT help.

My coworkers and vendors were talking about church and Easter plans openly and unabashedly -- which would be perfectly fine if I felt like I could say "guys, can we change the subject?" without causing ripples.   I got away with the standard "I was raised Catholic" and "my family celebrates" without too much pause or raised eyebrows.

Still, it's a bit much for me.   The more time that goes by the less interest I have in faith and religion.  And the more uncomfortable I am with some people's need to bring it into politics.

I'm guess I'm just glad not to be Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court anymore.     It has been 2 and a half weeks of various travel and I am more than ready to be home.
